[deep sigh] Yeah, I know, I'm almost four weeks late with this review. Well, to be fair, I was never gonna be any less than one week late, since I was out of town without Internet the week this episode came out. But whatever, I guess we're gonna take a look at this half-hour special, Tripped! So, I guess this is kind of the season premiere, since it was the first episode this season if we're ordering the episodes by production. It kept on getting delayed and delayed. First, it was May 4. Then, it was May 25, and finally, it was June 25. Well, after all that delaying, we finally got it. Let's have a look and see if it was worth the wait.

So, the Louds have finally raised enough money to afford a family vacation to a resort on Lake Michigan. As they leave, hijinks ensue, until they ultimately make it to the resort and have a good vacation. Yeah, that was way too simplified. Let me see if I can explain it in detail.

So, once they get on the road, the Lynns (Lynn Sr. and Lynn Jr.) become obsessed with trying to pass a farmer in his truck. You know, LJ, as they're apparently calling you now, I've stuck up for you when others express how they either don't like you or put you near the bottom in their sibling rankings, but you really are not helping me out here, since I had to take a permit test today. Good thing I didn't take your advice, or else I wouldn't've passed. That's right, guys, I also got my learner's permit today! Yeah, you guys just want me to review the episode. OK, fine.

Anyway, so Lori eats low-cal bean chips, causing her to fart and suffocate everyone in the van, which I wasn't too captivated by. I mean, aside from the gross-out humor (which I'm not automatically against, but they have to REALLY do it right if I'm gonna enjoy it), I've seen this before in road trip storylines: a character farts in the car, and everyone else sticks their heads out the widow in disgust. And then they eat egg salad sandwiches Leni made weeks ago, causing them to get sick, and they gotta go barf. Then, they run into the farmer from earlier, they give him a hand, but Lynn Sr. accidentally shifts the gear into reverse, causing it to drive down the hill. Then, part 1 ends with them chasing after the van, thus apparently ruining their vacation.

Part 2 kicks off with the family lamenting on their lost hope of a vacation, they find an open mic contest, so Lynn Sr. gets his cowbell and they go perform to win money to take a bus. And, I found the fact he had his cowbell, but not his wallet, on him pretty funny. And honestly, I'm digging Road Trippin' Blues here. It's no You Got Tricked or The Best Dang Brother Anywhere Around, but it is a pretty cool, catchy song, I must admit. And I mainly listen to rock and metal, if that says anything at all. So, they win, but they miss the bus because Luna stays behind to entertain the crowd since they love her. Ultimately they end up on a prison bus, and Lily, Lana, and Leni's interactions with the prisoner are just hysterical!

Lana: "Cool tattoos, mister. But I think your tattoo artist forgot to give this lady clothes. Don't worry... [pulls out a red marker] ...I'll fix it." [draws on his arm]

Wow! That was awesome! What? I'm 16 years old, you guys. My mind's stuck in the gutter for around the next 6 years. So, after Leni hilariously lets the prisoner escape, they are let off the bus and try to hitchhike, until Lana finds a broken down airplane. She fixes it up, and Rita volunteers to fly it, after Luan makes a surprisingly funny joke. It doesn't feel half as forced as 90% of her jokes throughout the show, which maybe has something to do with how it rolled off her tongue better in comparison to her other jokes, or how she wasn't giving a forced laugh at the end of it, and everyone else genuinely found it funny. So, Rita flies the plane, and Lily tried to point out Vanzilla, which is pretty cute and funny how she does it. Ultimately, they stop the truck driver who has Vanzilla, and they make it to the resort in time, or so they think. They're over a half hour late, so all hope seems lost, until the farmer comes by and offers them a stay with him, and their vacation is saved!

So, it ends with everyone having fun, horseback riding and hanging on the beach. OK, so there are two things I noticed here that are kind of puzzling and ironic:

1. Lola is seen eating cherries on the beach at the end, but earlier, she was disgusted by the fact they were made from manure. I don't know, maybe she just forgot about it, or was able to look past it since they were so good.

2. So, we remember In Tents Debate, right? And how Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lana, and Lisa all voted against going to Aloha Beach? Well, now four of those five are at the beach with Lincoln at the end of the episode. Irony, much?

So, that's the episode. Overall, I loved it! Lived up to the hype for sure. I will definitely come back to this one (I already have). While I wasn't without it's cringey moments like the farting scene, it still is a highlight. There are other moments that I didn't mention I also liked, such as Scoots paying money to see Lisa breakdance and talking like Lisa was--yeah, don't think I should say it on this wiki. But whatever. Overall, though. A great episode, and definitely worth checking out.
