"Changing the Baby" is the sixteenth episode of The Loud House.

Plot

When none of Lincoln's sisters share his interests, he tries to make Lily like the stuff he likes, since she has no definite interests.

Synopsis

The story opens at the Loud House, when Lincoln (holding an Ace Savvy comic and in his underpants) asks Lynn if she wants to read it with him, as Lynn tosses a basketball. She refuses because of three reasons...A) comics are boring, B) she tells him to put pants on, and C) ya later (last one was a joke), as she toss the ball at him. Downstairs, Lincoln is about to watch a DVD, when Luan walks up next to him with her ventriloquist dummy "Mr. Coconuts". He ask her if she wants to watch it with him. She uses Mr. Coconuts to say that science fiction stinks, and makes a joke out of it, as she walks away agreeing with Mr. Coconuts. He later comes to Lola, and shows her his coin collection, as well as the new coin he had just gotten. Lola just says it's lame, and asks him what's the point of the coins, if he wasn't going to spend it. Cut to Lucy writing where Lincoln asks her if she wants to ghost hunting with him. Lucy disagrees, asking why would she want to hunt her friends. In the kitchen, Lincoln asks Lana if she wants to try half of his "Peanut Butter and Sauerkraut Sandwich". Lana say she eats weird stuff, but she would not eat that, since it was disgusting. Lincoln plays a video game, and asks Leni (who is on her cell phone) if she wants to join him. She says that video games will rot his brain, as she tells Lincoln she's going to go read fashion magazines.

Lincoln says to the viewers that none of his sisters share any hobby of his, even Lily. Lincoln then gets an idea; he hands Lily a controller and she begins to play with it, much to her and Lincoln's delight. He claims that since she is a baby and basically like clay, he is going to mold her to be just like him. Clyde comes in and asks Lincoln if he wants to hang out with him, but Lincoln tells him he has something important to do (which was "changing" the baby) Clyde ask himself what was more important than hanging out with him. Lincoln begins to shows Lily all the things that he loves, Lily then wants her blanket, but Lincoln takes it from her saying she doesn't need it anymore. Lincoln is shown doing all the various things that his sisters reject from earlier with Lily. It shows both of them doing more of Lincoln favorite things, while Clyde is in different places, watching them. At a park, both of them are seen playing chess and wining while Clyde thinks he's being replaced, much to his dismay, then anger as a man threw an eaten apple at him.

Back at The Loud House, Lincoln and Lily (wearing one of the former's shirts) are both shown playing video games, along with many piles with the various things that Lincoln likes around both of them. Lori asks what they're doing, to which Lincoln explains that since they don't like the stuff he likes he's molding Lily to love the things he likes, much to the surprise of the girls. Lily wins the game, much to the confounded of Lincoln. Lincoln then reads Lily an Ace Savvy comic and tucks her into bed, kissing her in forehead for good night. The very next day, he finds Lily missing from her crib and he finds Lynn playing baseball with her. Lincoln rants at her for it, but Lynn tells he's not the only one to mold Lily as she wants to mold her to a sports star. The two argue and finds Luan dressing Lily as Mr. Coconuts and doing jokes. Lynn tells her that she had her first, but Lincoln tells his two sisters that it was his idea. The three of them angrily glare at each other and start fighting.

The three of them stop fighting to realize that Lily is missing. It's shown that Lucy had taken her to act like a goth, and is showing her pictures of Great Grandma Harriet, and Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln asks Lucy what she doing, to which she answers that she is introducing Lily to her "ghost friends". Lincoln takes Lily, causing Lucy to sigh in agony. In his room, Lincoln cleans Lily and is about to put an orange shirt on her, only to find her missing, again. Downstairs, it's revealed that Lori took her to watch a reality show called "Dylan Dates" and explains to her about the show. Lincoln slides from the banister and angrily tells his eldest sibling that he had Lily first. Lori gets angry with her brother and asks why he should get her while she's been waiting 17 years to find someone to do the things she likes, but then they hear Leni screaming. Alarmed, both siblings run upstairs to Lisa and Lily's room to find Leni in Lily's crib where she reveals that she was showing Lily her fashion magazines. She thinks it is a jail, much to Lincoln and Lori's confusion/agony, as Leni cries. Both of them help their sister out of the crib. Grateful, she say "Ah Goo". The three of them are then shocked to hear a menacingly laugh, only to find out it's Lisa who is dangerously testing Lily with one of her deadly experiments by placing a helmet on her head that runs on electricity. She is about to pull the switch, but Lincoln quickly shuts down the experiment and Lincoln angrily berates her for almost killing Lily. Lisa mentions that no one wants to do science with her. Lincoln tells her that Lily, being a baby, is awfully too young to do experiments, but Lisa says she was going to give her a sucker afterwards. Lincoln face-palms in frustration at this excuse.

Lincoln then tells Lisa and the other five sisters (Lori, Leni, Luan, Lynn, and Lucy) to stay away from Lily because he was the one who had her in the first place, but the six of them point out to their brother that she is missing once again much to his chagrin. Loud rock music can be heard and shows that Luna and Lily are in her and Luan's room playing the guitar and drums respectively. Luna then climbs up to her bunk bed and stage dives, only to be tackled by the others to save Lily, but she cheers anyway. Again, Lily is missing. Lola has taken her this time and put one of her tiaras on Lily's head. They're having a tea party, but Lana says that Lily doesn't want to play tea party and want to play with Izzy, her pet lizard. The twins then fight over Lily.

The others explain what they been doing with Lily, as they been taking her one by one. But after Lori explains, Lucy tells her that their Great Grandma Harriet knows she regifted her brooch and is not happy about it, shocking Lori. Enraged, the twins barks at them to give Lily back to them and they tackle the other sisters and they start fighting. Lincoln grabs Lily and tip-toe of Lana and Lola's room, but gets caught by the girls, who all angrily ask, "Where do you think you're going?!". Realizing this is all his fault, Lincoln dashes out the door and its a mad chase. Lincoln runs with Lily, but Lori smacks him and takes her. Lincoln catches up to Lori and takes Lily back, but crashes into Luan and swaps Lily with Mr. Coconuts. Once she runs downstairs, Leni takes her. While she taunts Luan, Lisa use a claw arm to snatch Lily, making Leni think Lily is invisible. Lucy takes her from Lisa and scares Leni. Lucy runs, but Lisa steals Lily back, only for Leni to grab her. Luan finishes a banana and tosses on the floor, causing Leni to slip and Lincoln to catch her. Lynn uses a baseball mitt and snags her. Lola uses her small car and catches Lily, thus running Lynn over. Lana uses jacks to flip over Lola's car and take Lily, only for her be surrounded by the others and they brawl for Lily. Lincoln whistles for his sisters to stop fighting and explains that if they want to mold Lily, then they should let her choose who to go to.

S1E08B Lucy smirk

Lucy smiles, knowing she was right about Lori.

In the living room, the Loud family listen to Lincoln as he says that whoever Lily crawls to will be the one to hang out with her. They all agree and pull out their respective things. Lily gets nervous and paranoid around her brother and sisters. An angry Clyde (who still thinks he's been replaced) barges in and dresses as a baby, much to the shock of everyone. Lily starts crawling and Lynn thinks she coming to her, which Lincoln protests and the two argue. Much to the astonishment of everyone, Lily chooses Clyde. Before Clyde can berate her, Lily grabs her blanket and Clyde stares at her in awe. Lincoln asks Clyde why he's wearing a diaper. He explains that he has been replaced by Lily. Lincoln says that he will never replace him since they're best friends. Lincoln asks if they want to hang out, but he declines and decides to hang with Lily. Lincoln explains to his sisters they can't mold Lily and no matter what they do as she will always do the things she wants. Lori, worried, is talking to Bobby about if his mother has that brooch she gave to her, with Lucy smiling in triumph, as the episode ends.

Trivia

  • It is revealed that Lincoln's favorite sandwich is peanut butter and sauerkraut.
  • It shows that not only do none of Lincoln's sisters have anything in common with their brother, but they also have nothing in common with each other.
    • This is somewhat hypocritical, because Lincoln is trying to spend time with Lily, but the girls took her too.
  • When Lincoln breaks up the free-for-all to get Lily, all of his sisters are piled up similarly to when he and his sisters fought over the last slice of pizza in "Lincoln Loud's ABCs of Getting the Last Slice", and its adaptation "Slice of Life".
  • Lincoln says the title of the episode when he decides to make Lily more like him.
  • There are some changes made to this episode in the Polish dub:
    • When Lincoln shows Lola his coin collection, he said his newest coin is a Polish złoty. In the dub, it's changed to Japanese yen.
    • In the dub, the disc Lincoln puts in the DVD player is a documentary film instead of a Sci-Fi.
  • Clyde speaks to the audience in this episode, making him the third character behind Lincoln and Lisa to do so.
  • This is the first time where Lily vomits, the second time will be in "Cover Girls".
  • The order in which Lily's siblings show her their possessions while saying something to win her attention:
    S1E08B siblings in agreement

Errors

  • Plot hole:
    • Leni states that she doesn't like to play video games, despite the fact she didn't seem bothered playing one in "Driving Miss Hazy".
    • Lucy refused to join Lincoln in ghost hunting, despite this she had no problem with this in "Suite and Sour". It's probably because Lucy just wanted to find some new ghost friends to play with.
  • When the sisters fight for Lily in the hallway, Leni's shades are seen falling off, but when Lincoln stops the fight, her shades are back on her head.
    • In that same scene, one of Lincoln's legs is seen in the dust cloud, even though he wasn't fighting with them.
  • When Lincoln, Luan and Lynn fought, from the smoke of their fight, body parts of other sisters that didn't participate in the fight were seen:
    • Luna's hand.
    • Lucy's leg.
    • Lana's leg.
S1E08B Lily with Teeth

Lily's teeth and eyebrows.

  • At times Lily is shown with a full set of teeth when the Loud kids were trying to convince her of choosing one of them, even though she is only shown to have one tooth.
    • Lily is also shown to have eyebrows in this scene, even though she is never seen with eyebrows.
  • Lynn and Lucy share the same room and have 2 separate beds, but when Lincoln visits them alone their beds are in the same place. The scene with Lucy was probably reversed.
  • When Lincoln breaks the sandwich in half for Lily, Lincoln's half has an bite on it, but, after Lincoln and Lily do a toast, and, when Lincoln bites the sandwich, the bite is gone.
    • Also, on the same scene, the crust is the same color as the bread.
